LOOKING FOR MAKEUP ARTISTS WHO WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Join us on April 11-12 in New Orleans for a 2-Day Mega-Fest for "V to the 10th" the 10th Anniversary Celebration of Eve Ensler's Movement "V-Day" and the play "the Vagina Monologues". The Superdome will be turned into Superlove. The women of the Gulf South will be pampered and nurtured in "caring suites". Massage, yoga, counseling and MAKEUP will be available for these women who have endured more suffering than most.

There are an estimated 5000...can I say that again, 5000 women expected to pass through these suites. We need a minimum of 100 artists to participate if we are to provide care for all of them. I really don't want to have to turn away anyone who shows up.

The plan is to provide touch-ups NOT full makeovers. Each artist will be given 10-15 minutes per woman and it is our job to forget about everything else and give our complete attention to the women who need it most.

We all know the immense satisfaction that comes from making in a difference in another's life. I personally chose to be a makeup artist because of witnessing the transformational affect makeup had on women. If a woman loved what see saw when she looked in the mirror she would make all kinds of changes in her life for the better. It is my intention that these NOLA women leave our chairs feeling so inspired and good about themselves that they are able to find the strength to overcome whatever obstacles have been put in their way.

What we need from you:

A time commitment: We leave on Thursday evening on a bus joining the Atlanta V-Day community and return Sunday afternoon. We perform Superlove makeovers on Friday and Saturday. Times to be determined. As I get more information I will pass it on.

Your ability to work like a rock star!

What we will provide:

MAKEUP. You can read about ProFaces under the makeup section of this website. This makeup was developed by a cosmetic manufacturer who is a makeup artist. There is an incredible color selection which consists of highly pigmented colorations in shadows, blushes, lipcolor etc. The foundation is customizable. It is a liquid foundation which can be best described as leaving a velvety finish. I haven't had one client in 5 years experience an allergic reaction. The foundation is mineral oil free. I have found that this the moisture rich foundation has many different application variations to achieve a variety of finishes. I will give a crash course on Product knowledge if you feel you will need it.

TRANSPORTATION: If you are coming from the Atlanta area, there is a bus leaving from Atlanta which we will be going on. I am looking forward to the experience of this event from start to finish. I have traveled by car extensively and there is just something magical about journeying. What happens on the road, stays on the road!

If you live out of the Atlanta area we will meet you in New Orleans!

ACCOMODATIONS: We are in the middle of securing accomodations. I will need to know by March 25th at the very latest if you are willing to participate. We are planning 2-3 people to a room. If you are not comfortable with that let me know.

This is one time where you will know that you are being of service. Eve Ensler is a passionate commitment to her mission. I decided to take this on because after meeting her I knew that I wanted to be part of a solution on this planet and not the problem. I didn't want to complain for one more minute about the condition of our planet without doing SOMETHING about it. This is a chance to do just that.
