PHOTOTHERAPY

What is Phototherapy? (also known as Light Therapy)

Phototherapy is an emerging science that has continued to captivate scientists, doctors and skin care professionals.  While the science has many names - Light Therapy, IPL, LED Treatment, blue or red light treatment, photodynamic treatment – each of these disciplines focuses on harnessing the healing power of light.  Phototherapy is one of the fastest growing, but still relatively unknown, segments within the skin care industry.

Phototherapy is based on the idea of isolating specific wavelengths of light within the light spectrum for a variety of treatments and applications.   Studies have been done on phototherapy’s promising results for various applications including acne, anti-aging, pain relief, mood disorders, hair regeneration and hair removal.  Phototherapy has shown to be a safe and effective acne treatment that has been used in clinical settings for the past decade.

Who Invented this Technology?

NASA scientists first utilized the power of LED (light-emitting diode) photo light technology to spur plant growth on the Space Station. The lack of gravity in space keeps cells from growing naturally, resulting in slow-growing plant life, as well as loss of bone mass, atrophied muscles and wounds that do not heal properly. The near-infrared photo light emitted by LEDs increased energy produced in the mitochondria (energy compartments) of each cell.   NASA researchers then discovered that these LED’s exerted similar physiological effects on human cells, just as they did on plant cells.

The promise of LED technology / phototherapy prompted researchers to begin applying LED light technology to skin ulcers, burns, and cancer. Researchers determined that longer wavelengths penetrate tissues more deeply without the potentially damaging heat that high-powered lasers produced.

NASA research spurred scientists, clinicians and doctors looking for effective skin care treatments to try it on their patients. Domestic and international studies regarding phototherapy for healing are bearing out the positive results that NASA scientists initially discovered.

HOW DO ANSR:™ WORK?

PHOTOTHERAPY (LIGHT THERAPY)

ANSR: is a paradigm shift for rejuvenating and treating the surface of the skin safely at home using the science of Phototherapy (also called Light Therapy) found in the ANSR: BEAM.

The ANSR: BEAM’s penetrating RED light and anti-aging SERUM work together to rejuvenate the skin, helping to even skin tone, smooth texture, reduce redness and fill in fine lines and wrinkles.

The ANSR: BEAM’s BLUE light treats acne by attacking bacteria beneath the skin. The PREP exfoliating cleanser, and DAY and NIGHT acne lotions work together to treat blemishes by preventing skin’s natural oils from clogging pores that cause acne infections.

ANSR: BEAM™

The ANSR: BEAM utilizes harmless phototonic energy to help treat the skin deep below the skin's surface. Narrow spectrums of light waves are produced by special, high-intensity LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and are absorbed by the skin and cells in the body. This light, called phototherapy or light therapy, is converted into chemical energy, which initiates a cascade of events at the cellular level.

The ANSR: BEAM utilizes narrow-band, high-intensity blue and red photo light wave applications for treating acne and to rejuvenate the skin - and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.

Blue photo light waves (430 nm) are precise wavelengths of light energy that are selectively delivered to the targeted area beneath the skin. Bacteria that causes inflammation associated with acne is known as Propionobacterium Acnes or P.acnes. P.acnes release porphyrins, which absorb the light energy and in effect, self-destruct. By removing P.acnes, inflammation disappears and acne clears up. A different photo light wavelength than skin-damaging ultraviolet light, blue light safely kills bacteria without causing dryness, redness or pain.

Red photo light wavelengths (632nm) are longer wavelengths that are able to penetrate the skin more deeply stimulating the collagens to create new, healthier cells - up to 200% more rapidly. New cell growth rejuvenates the skin, even outs out skin tone, reducing redness and filling in fine lines and wrinkles.
