Biographical Summary
Courtney Turner McCormick is a makeup artist with ten years experience in helping women discover their true beauty. An extensive education in makeup and skin care has laid the foundation for her years of teaching makeup classes, doing makeup for an array of events from weddings to the Academy Awards, and carrying the message of beauty and self-worth throughout the world.
Growing up with an artist for a dad, Courtney was surrounded and inspired by the idea of capturing and expressing the beauty of God’s creations. She was enthralled by the interaction of colors. As a teenager, Courtney began to realize that this interest in painting manifested itself as a natural creative talent for makeup. She got her hands on every makeup book and any willing face she could find. Let’s just say that she was booked solid with makeup appointments at her own senior prom!
Courtney pursued an education at the University of Georgia, majoring in Film and Television Production and minoring in Theater Drama. Both study directions allowed her to develop as a makeup artist through classes (Stage Makeup) and real-life, practical experience. After graduating from UGA, Courtney obtained her professional esthetics license at The International School for Skin and Nails. The intense training and study at ISSN deepened her understanding of skin care and makeup application, and prepared her for a career launch. She moved to Los Angeles, where she was a spa manager for the organic beauty industry giant Jurlique and a freelance makeup artist. Courtney has now returned to her roots in Atlanta, where she loves being a wife and mother of two boys and helping people discover their own God-given beauty, one woman at a time.
It is Courtney’s passion to help women-all women-realize how beautiful and how valued they really are, and to help make them comfortable in their own skin. She has traveled to Paraguay, Brazil, Belgium, and most recently South Africa on short-term mission trips to bring a message of hope and good will to the desolate, the sick, and the poor. But Courtney’s truest passion is to bring a beautiful message of hope to the women (neighbors, friends, family, teens, and young girls) that surround her each day.
